Moving house can be stressful, but with the right preparation it doesn’t have to be.
Based on decades of helping families move across Surrey and beyond, here are our top tips to make sure your move goes smoothly from start to finish.
If you’re packing yourself, begin at least two weeks before moving day. Label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to at your new home.
Mix light and heavy items carefully, and don’t overload boxes. Clearly mark anything fragile so our team can take extra care. It’s also a good time to clear out the loft, garage and shed — donate or sell anything you no longer need.

Check your car is ready for the journey, especially if you’re moving a long distance.
Pack a first-night essentials box containing:
toiletries, a change of clothes, towels, medications, toilet rolls, cleaning wipes, light bulbs, kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, snacks, disposable plates, a few tools, matches, phone chargers and important documents.
Keep this box with you — not on the removals lorry.
Also, double-check that your new house keys will be available on time.
At your new home, our crew will carefully unload everything into the correct rooms, reassemble any furniture, and unpack where this service has been arranged.
Before leaving, the team leader will check you’re satisfied and ask you to sign the delivery sheet.
We’re proud that so much of our business comes from word of mouth and recommendations.
If you were happy with your move, please take a moment to leave us a review on Google, Facebook, or Instagram — it really helps others find a removals team they can trust.
